I know so much more about Kubernetes than I did a couple of weeks ago, but I'm still at the stage where I have to follow a guide to get much of anything done.
For example! If I want to automate registering SSL certs I can install a special Issuer component. To do that I use Helm, which is a package manager for K8s. I didn't even know that was a thing!
Then there are 'charts' for automating the setup of entire apps in the cluster...
The list goes on. I'm enjoying myself though!
@pixelfed I love that this exists, I've got my fingers crossedfor our success.
A couple of questions:
How are you planning on keeping the site sustainable (paying server costs, etc.)?
Can I follow folks on pixelfed from my Mastodon account? If not is that coming?

I'm learning about Kubernetes today, which has been made much more interesting thanks to the existence of this comic: https://cloud.google.com/kubernetes-engine/kubernetes-comic/
Also! This guide/tutorial is very good and I recommend going through it if you want to know what all the fuss about infrastructure-as-code is: https://github.com/Artemmkin/infrastructure-as-code-tutorial
I'm trying to put together an introductory class for a #HackerSpace group that is starting up in #Bismarck, ND. I was wondering if any of y'all #bash and #linux literate folk might have any particular interactive bash #tutorials that you would recommend? I'm seeing many on the google; personal recommendation by anybody with the know will help me sort things out quite a bit. ;)
Thanks in advance!
We have a weekly Destiny night where we play through the Nightfall, some Crucible, and some public events.
Say what you like about the progression systems (I like them personally), but the movement and shooting in D2 is fantastic.
🤔 The circuitry inside a Casio watch isn't too complex, maybe I could measure it and manufacture a replacement with more features.
Oops somebody already did it! Way better than I would have!
The "Pluto" watch, which re-purposes the case and LCD from a Casio F91-W, includes a compass, infrared programming, RTTTL ringtone (musical) alarms, generates RFC 6238 one-time passwords, open source, and runs for a year on a standard watch battery! Wow!! 😮
more cybrepnuk than Pebble imho
Removing code is very satisfying
